Classroom Policies and Procedures
You must be an active participant in your own education. I hope this will be one of the most laid-back classes you take, but yet one of the most valuable. Here are our classroom policies and procedures, to ensure a positive learning environment and to help prepare you for the mindset that you will soon be working a job. When you enter my room, pretend that you are clocking in to report to work.
- Attendance = When you are absent, check my Google Classrom page to see what you missed. Since each assignment is required for your final portfolio, you will need to find time to get your assignments made up.
- Late Work - I will accept late work up to one month after the due date that is listed in Google Classroom Assignments. In Skyward, if there is a * in the assignment section, I haven't graded your class's assignment yet. If I have graded your class's assignment and yours is not there, I will enter a ZERO until you do turn it in. I will not penalize you for turning it in late. But it will stay a zero until you turn it in (within one month). GENEROUS POLICY!!!
- Tardy = It is important to be on time to class (and work). Please be through the door before the bell rings. Three tardies will result in a detention (per the student handbook).
- Passes = You MUST present your own plan book. If you do not have your planner, you will be issued a Tardy until you bring your planner back to me to sign. You will only be allowed FIVE passes per semester. I would prefer that you use ZERO passes, but I realize that there may be emergencies. If you have extenuating health circumstances, please let me know. You MAY NOT use a pass in the following circumstances:
- ---During first 15 minutes of class
- ---In the middle of lecture or demonstration.
- FOOD OR DRINK = Water is the only thing allowed, must be in a bottle with a cap, and must be kept on the floor. No food.
- Finish Early Activities = A list of appropriate activities will be provided for those times when you may be finished with your work before everyone else in the class.
- Cell Phones = Keep your phones put away during class. You may have special permission for certain classroom assignments.
